Green School

St. Leo's College Green School Team are constant innovators and work hard to promote environmental awareness. Recycling is a key focus for the the team and this year the school supported the drive to increase waste recycling by installing recycling bins around the school campus. Students are encouraged to use the recycling bins to dispose of their waste and protect the environment.

Gaisce Glas

Caoimhe Martin has been selected out of a group over 80 applications to form a group of 12 young people from across the country to receive training in becoming youth advocates for climate justice. Gaisce Glas is the first of its kind within Gaisce. The training will take place weekly online over the course of 13 Weeks. Participants will explore both local and global issues relating to climate justice, hear from guest speakers and experts in the field, and undertake their own campaigns for action in their local communities.

Green School Water Ambassador

Katie Brooks proudly received her certificate for being a water ambassador in 2020. She hopes to organise a clean up along the Barrow with the Green Schools team.

Well done Katie!

The Green School Team planted an oak tree as part of their plan to improve the natural environment on campus and raise awareness of the importance of trees for air quality, sustainable flora and fauna habitats and general wellbeing.

Our Polytunnel, vegetable and flower beds are a great resource and help to educate the school community on all aspects of horticulture.

Well done to the Home Economics Department who are now composting!
