Munich/Salzberg Tour

Welcome home to our 25 second year students, tour leader Ms Emma Dwyer, Ms Nuala Kennedy and Ms Niamh Broderick who returned late on Sunday night from their three day trip to Munich & Salzburg.

Highlights from the tour included guided tours of Neuschwanstein Castle in Hohenschwangau, the Salt Mines in Berchtesgaden, the Sound of Music tour in Salzburg,visits to the Deutsches Museum,BMW World, the Olympia Tower and trips on the U-Bahn and S-Bahn trains.German teacher Ms Dwyer availed of every opportunity to teach both language and culture, and students were encouraged to speak German as much as possible throughout the tour.Most students made recordings for their Junior Cycle Classroom Based Assessments.

The group is pictured here in the beautiful Marienplatz in Munich,at the Deutsches Museum and in front of the iconic ‘Sixteen going on Seventeen’ gazebo from the Sound of Music.
